Privacy Policy

The short version: The contact form prepares a message in your own email app. The website does not receive or store those form fields. If you choose to send the email, I receive the information through email. The financial calculators never send your numbers anywhere; they run entirely inside your browser. I don't sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, for any reason.
1. Who this policy is from
This site is operated by Emily Piscitello, doing business as Money Unfiltered, a financial coaching practice based in Wisconsin serving clients throughout the United States. In this policy, "I" and "me" mean Money Unfiltered, and "you" means anyone visiting this website or contacting me through it.

2. What I collect
Information you give me directly
When you use the contact form, the website validates your name and email address on your device and prepares an email containing your name, email address, selected goal, and any message you choose to write. Your email app opens with that draft. Nothing is sent until you review it and press Send. At that point, your email provider and mine process the message under their own privacy policies.
If you go on to become a coaching client, you will share far more detailed financial information with me during our work together. That information is covered in section 7 below and by the coaching agreement you sign before we begin.
Information the calculators do not collect
This deserves its own heading because it is unusual and it matters. The Reality Check and the Debt Hit List run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Every number you enter — your income, your bills, your account balances, your interest rates — stays on your own device. Nothing is transmitted to me, to this website's host, or to any third party. Nothing is stored after you close the tab. There is no account, no login, and no saved session.
I built them that way deliberately. You should be able to look honestly at your own finances without handing the numbers to a stranger first.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, the service that hosts this site keeps standard server logs. These typically include your IP address, browser type, the pages you visited, and the time you visited. I use this only to keep the site running, working, and secure. I do not use it to build a profile of you.
This site does not currently use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change goes live, and the update date at the bottom of this page will change with it.
3. Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may store ordinary technical data required to display the page. Nothing here follows you to other websites.
4. How I use what you give me
Only for these things:
- To reply to you when you contact me
- To schedule and hold a free consultation call
- To provide coaching services if you decide to become a client
- To send you something you specifically asked me to send
- To meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations
I will not add you to a marketing list because you filled out the contact form. If I ever start a newsletter, you will have to ask for it on purpose.
5. Who else sees it
I do not sell your personal information. I do not rent it, trade it, or share it for anyone else's marketing. I have never done this and the business is not built in a way that would make it profitable to start.
A small number of service providers necessarily touch information in order for the site and business to function — for example the company that hosts this website, your email provider and mine when you send a message, and, if you become a paying client, any payment processor or scheduling tool used for that service. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy policies.
The only other circumstances in which I would disclose your information are: if you ask me to; if I am legally required to by a subpoena, court order, or law; or if it is genuinely necessary to protect someone's safety or to establish or defend a legal claim.
6. Payment information
If you become a paying client, payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. I never see or store your full card number or bank account number. Those details go directly to the processor, which is subject to its own security standards and privacy policy.
7. Client financial information
Coaching requires you to show me real numbers — account balances, debts, income, spending. I treat that material as confidential. I do not share it, publish it, or use it as an example without your written permission, and any story or figure I ever use publicly will be anonymized and used only with that permission. I keep client records only as long as needed to serve you and to satisfy tax and legal requirements, and I store them in access-controlled locations.
Please note: financial coaching is not a legally privileged relationship the way conversations with an attorney are. I will keep your information confidential as a matter of professional practice and contract, but I cannot promise it would be shielded from a lawful court order.
8. How long I keep things
Email messages from people who never become clients are kept while the conversation is active and are deleted when it is clearly over. Client records are retained for as long as our engagement lasts and afterward for the period required by tax and recordkeeping law, generally seven years. You can ask me to delete anything sooner and I will, unless the law requires me to keep it.
9. Your rights and choices
Whatever state you live in, you may ask me to:
- Tell you what personal information I have about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, subject to legal retention requirements
- Stop contacting you entirely
Email mspiscitello@gmail.com and I will handle it, normally within 30 days. There is no charge for this and I will not make you explain why.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights under those laws, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. I extend the rights listed above to everyone regardless of where you live, because maintaining two standards would be worse than simply holding the higher one.
10. Do Not Track
This site does not track you across other websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to turn off. It is honored by default in the sense that the behavior it disables never happens here.
11. Children
This site and these services are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent me information, email me and I will delete it.
12. Security
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. I use reputable providers, keep access to client records limited, and use multi-factor authentication on the accounts that hold them. That said, no method of transmitting or storing information is perfectly secure. Please do not put account numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, or other highly sensitive information in an email — I will never ask for them there.
13. Links to other sites
Where this site links somewhere else, that other site has its own privacy policy and I am not responsible for its practices.
14. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes affecting how I handle information already collected from you will be communicated directly where I have a way to reach you.
