I spent 20 years inside the banks.
Now I work for you.

Teller, personal banker, loan officer, underwriter, branch manager, regional manager — I've sat in nearly every seat. I know how these products are built, who they're built for, and why staying confused costs you money. Now I teach people the other side of it.

Sound familiar?

You make decent money.
So where the hell is it going?

It vanishes every month

The paycheck lands, the bills clear, and somehow there's nothing left. You couldn't tell anyone where it went — and that's the part that eats at you.

You've quit six budgets

Apps, spreadsheets, envelopes, that YouTube method. Each one worked for three weeks. Then life happened and the whole thing fell apart.

Everyone's selling you something

Most "advisors" who will talk to you have a product behind the advice. I know — I used to work there. Now I have nothing to sell you but the plan itself.

Who I work with

If you're in one of these,
you're in the right place

Living paycheck to paycheck

You're not broke and you're not careless. The money comes in and goes right back out, and you've never seen the whole picture on one page.

Buried in debt

Cards, a car, medical, maybe student loans. You pay every month and the balances barely move. You need a payoff order, not a lecture.

Earning real money for the first time

The income showed up and nobody handed you a system. Better to build the habits now than spend your thirties undoing what your twenties cost.

Fighting with your partner about it

Same argument every month, and it's never really about the money. You need a neutral third person and a set of rules you both agreed to.

Starting over

Divorce, a layoff, an illness, a move. The old plan doesn't apply anymore and you have to rebuild from what you've actually got.

Who I'm not for

Want someone to pick investments, manage a portfolio, or do your taxes? That's a licensed advisor or CPA. I'll tell you that on the free call instead of taking your money.

Free Tools

Start with the truth.

If the price is the reason you can't start, say that on the free call. I'd rather work something out than watch you sit in it for another year.

How this works

Three steps. No surprises.

We talk straight

Thirty minutes, free. You tell me what's going on. I tell you honestly whether coaching helps — and if it doesn't, I say so and point you somewhere better.

We run the numbers

Every dollar in, every dollar out, all of it on the table. No judgment, no lecture. Then we build a plan around your actual life instead of a template.

We keep you honest

Regular sessions to adjust, troubleshoot, and hold the line when motivation runs out. Accountability is the part everyone skips. It's the part that works.

Emily Piscitello, financial coach and founder of Money Unfiltered

About

I'm Emily Piscitello.
I know how the machine works.

I spent 20 years in banking and finance, and I didn't sit in one chair the whole time. I started as a teller. Then personal banker, mortgage processor, mortgage underwriter, loan officer, branch manager, deposit operations manager, back office, regional manager. Front line to back room, one desk to a whole region.

That means I've seen your file from every angle. I've watched people work full time and still live paycheck to paycheck. I've underwritten loans and watched what they did to a family two years later. I've sat across from people in their sixties with nothing saved, wondering how they were ever supposed to stop working. And I've seen from the inside how much of that is designed rather than accidental — how the fee structures, the minimum payments, and the deliberately dense paperwork all quietly depend on you not understanding them.

None of it is secret. It's just never explained to you, because explaining it costs the institution money. That's the whole reason this business exists. I'm not here to demonize anyone or sell you a system. I'm here to teach you what I learned on the other side of that desk, so you can make, keep, and use your money without needing permission from a company that profits when you stay stuck.

“You don't need a million-dollar corporation to manage your money. You need to understand it. That's the one part they can't sell you.”

What actually happens

The first 90 days

No promises about outcomes — anyone guaranteeing you a number is selling something. This is the work itself.

Month one — Everything on the table Every account, every balance, every subscription you forgot about. Most people have never seen it all in one place, and that alone changes the next decision you make.

Month two — The plan meets real life Something breaks. It always does. This is the month we adjust instead of quitting — and it's the month that separates a plan that works from another abandoned budget.

Month three — It runs without me A debt is gone, or a buffer exists. More importantly, you know what to do next month without asking me. Making myself unnecessary was always the goal.

⚠ Note for you, not for visitors: once you have written permission from real clients, swap this section for their actual quotes — specific results convert far better than process descriptions. Never write them yourself; testimonials in financial services carry real legal exposure.

Straight answers

Before you book

Are you a financial advisor?

No, and that's the point. I'm a financial coach. I help you build habits, budgets, and payoff plans with the money you already have. I don't manage investments, sell insurance, or take commissions — so there's no product hiding behind my advice. When you need a licensed advisor, CPA, or attorney, I'll tell you.

How bad does it have to be before I call?

There's no minimum mess. I've seen files at every stage of bad, and the ones people are most ashamed of are usually the most fixable. The honest exceptions: if you're in active bankruptcy, facing foreclosure or repossession this month, or dealing with a tax lien, you need an attorney or a licensed professional first. Call me after, or call me now and I'll tell you who to call.

I'm embarrassed about my finances. Is that going to be weird?

No. I've seen every version of it, including my own. There's no lecture here — just numbers on a page and a decision about what happens next. "No shame" isn't a marketing line, it's the actual rule.

Do we meet in person or online?

Online — video or phone, whichever you prefer. I'm based in Wisconsin and I work with clients anywhere in the US. I also schedule around real life: nights and weekends are fine. Most people doing this work have a job during the day, which is rather the point.

What if it's not working?

The Turnaround has a three-month minimum because change takes about that long — but you're not locked in blind. After our first session, if you decide this isn't for you, say so within a week and I'll release you from the rest of the term. You pay the first month and owe nothing more. After the initial three months it's month to month: cancel any time with a week's notice, no fee, no conversation about why.

You worked for the banks. Why should I trust you now?

Fair question, and you should ask it. I'm not going to tell you I was secretly fighting the system from the inside — I did my job. What 20 years across teller windows, underwriting desks, and regional offices actually gave me is how the products get priced, how the decisions really get made, and where the money quietly leaks out of your accounts. I don't sell any of those products now. No commissions, no referral fees, no bank pays me anything. You're the only one who does, which makes you the only person I answer to.

Do I have to buy anything to use the free tools?

No, and you don't have to hand over your email either. Both calculators run entirely in your browser — your numbers never leave your device and never reach me. If they're useful on their own, use them and go. That's a fine outcome.

What does coaching cost?

$249 for a one-time Reset session, $199 a month for three-month coaching, $279 a month for couples. The first call is free and there is no pitch on it.

Do you actually swear at me?

At the numbers, sometimes. At you, never. "Unfiltered" means I won't soften what the math says to make a conversation more comfortable. It does not mean I'm going to make you feel small — those are opposite things.

Why this exists

The goal is to make myself unnecessary

Most of the financial industry is built on you needing it forever. This is built the opposite way. I want you to understand your own money well enough that you stop needing me, stop paying for another app subscription, and stop taking advice from anyone whose paycheck depends on the product they're recommending.

Financial freedom isn't a package I sell you. It's what's left over once you finally understand the rules everybody else was already playing by.

No shame. No bullshit. Just numbers.
